Overview:
For this assignment, I was required to identify a publication, company, or organization and create a piece of digital content. This entity could be a corporate or non-profit organization, operating locally, nationally, or internationally.
Deliverables: A piece of digital content for an organization of choice using Canva.
My Process:
1. I chose to create an infographic for ‘Charity: Water’—a non profit organization whose mission is to provide safe drinking water to people around the world.
2. I conducted research on the organization, their target audience, their mission, and the safe drinking water global crisis using reputable sources.
3. I defined the purpose of the infographic and decided on a message to convey to Charity Water’s target audience.
4. I gathered relevant data and statistics to support my infographic message.
5. I created the infographic on Canva using visual elements to represent the information and structured the data into key points.
6. I chose appropriate font, colors (Charity Water brand colors), and ensured that the overall design is clear and easy to read and understand.
Why an infographic: Prior to this assignment, I learned that more and more organizations us infographics to tell stories. Infographics also highly shareable, grab readers’ attention, and cut through online noise. Visual information is processed more efficiently by our brains than textual information to make information more understandable.
